Bill Tuttle has been photographing the American scenic landscape
since 1984 when he began work for the book, Four Seasons of Splendor
in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina
and Tennessee. He was engaged in pastoral and nature photography
of the Blue Ridge mountains and Shenandoah National Park, Virginia,
and outdoor vistas of the Carolinas until moving to Colorado Springs,
Colorado, in 1992. Since then he has been actively photographing
the environment of Colorado and the West.
Previous publications include images for numerous South Carolina
businesses and advertising agencies, regional paper product publishers
in postcards, calendars, posters, etc., and state (SC) and regional
magazines such as The Upstate Publication, Sandlapper
and Blue Ridge Country. In Colorado he has provided images
for the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mountain
Sights Inc., First Light Publishers, Blue Sky Publishing Company,
and various advertising agencies.
Bill uses a Deardorff 4x5 Special view camera to produce large
format images capable of generating great detail and sizeable enlargements.
